A Gantt chart with 200 tasks gives the illusion of control over inherently uncertain work. The discovery that matters most happens in the first 20% of a project. A plan that's detailed beyond your known-unknowns is a fiction that costs time to maintain.

"Project delays are caused by poor planning"
Most project delays are caused by late-cycle scope additions (not planned for), resource conflicts (not visible at planning time), and dependency failures (third parties and other teams). Better scoping and dependency management prevents more delays than better Gantt charts.
